Kit Malthouse

Chairman

Kit is the founder and Managing Director of County. Also Chairman of the board, he is a chartered accountant with 20 years’ experience in finance, and has combined his business life with a career in politics. In 1998 Kit was elected to Westminster City Council where he rose to be deputy leader and finance chief controlling a budget of over £900 million, delivering one of the lowest council taxes in the country. In 2008 he was elected to the London Assembly was appointed Deputy Mayor for Policing by Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London. He is also currently Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Authority and in that role has strategic supervision of the Met’s £3.5 billion budget. In parallel he is a founder director of Alpha Strategic PLC, a listed hedge fund consolidator and is on the board of the Association of Police Authorities. Kit chairs the London Hydrogen Partnership and is an Honorary Vice Chairman of the Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity and an Honorary Member of the Passage Day Centre. He is married with three children who completely absorb any spare time.

Dawn Tingay

Director and Company Secretary

Dawn is a Shareholder, Director and Deputy Managing Director. She joined the Company three years after its inception, and has well over 20 years experience in the finance industry.  Dawn is responsible for the general operations of the company, including accounting and compliance.  Well known to funders and customers alike, she brings rigour and exacting standards to County’s procedures, which have enhanced our reputation immeasurably.

When Dawn is out of the office, she can either be found at the side of a football pitch watching her son play, or planning her next cruise/kitchen.

Mark Quirke

Director

Mark is a Director and Shareholder and has been with the Company since its inception in 1995.  Heading the general asset finance sales division, he is a plant hire and construction industry expert, but will turn his hand to financing a wide variety of solid assets, as both our customers and dealers have learned to their benefit over the years. .

Mark is a keen follower of sport and can be often spotted watching Leicester City F.C in tears.

Joanne Stonier

Administrative Assistant

Joanne is Dawn’s second right hand, working alongside and keeping our administration up to scratch.  With County since 1999, she is responsible for compliance and control for all new business, cash receipts and invoicing. Always willing to help, she has become an important and respected member of the County family.

A secret headbanger, Joanne likes Heavy Rock and anything that involves ‘sweets’.

Mark Tingay

IT & Equipment Manager

A relative latecomer to the finance industry, Mark has been with the company for ten years. His HGV license comes in handy for his role assisting in our sales and recovery efforts and he is our main verification man. He also looks after our IT systems, Health & Safety and is our nominated Fire Officer and First Aider.

Mark is an animal lover and a keen steam enthusiast.

Ros Smith

Secretarial

Ros joined County in 2010 following a spell as PA to a Director at the Alliance & Leicester, in the Marketing & eCommerce Division.  Primarily assisting the admin team with general duties she also keeps an eye on the diary and makes sure we all know where we need to be.

Ros enjoys supporting the Leicester Tigers Rugby Team and fine dining.

Luke Ward

Sales

Luke joined the County sales division in 2011 following time in the Aviation Finance Division of Hitachi Capital.  He assists Mark and Darren in the sales effort as well as developing his own network of dealers and customers.

Outside of work he is a keen sportsman playing hockey and cricket, and is a lonely Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter.

Darren Shaw

Sales

Darren joined the Management Team earlier this year to head up the Merchant Cash Advance division and expand our portfolio of loan products to his extensive network of medical and paper professions clients.  He brings over 17 years’ experience from a career with Anglo Irish, British Linen and Close Asset.

Darren is a keen cricketer and well known throughout the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League. He is an ECB Level 2 coach.
